Once the canopy is down and chipped, the standing trunks come down. Logs cut to length and either left for you as firewood or loaded by the skid steer onto the dump trailer for haul. Your call before we start.

4 inches for lawn-ready, 8 to 12 inches for sod or fence-post lines, 12 to 18 inches for replanting depth, or ground flush for a builder pad. One trip, no return visit, no separate stump invoice.
Debris Removal + Final Grading Pass
The trunks, root balls, and stray brush get loaded and hauled. We do a final skid-steer pass to rake the surface, smooth the ruts, and leave the lot grading-ready for the next trade.

Acreage at the Property Lines
What we clear is the area inside the marked lines, not the deed acreage. A 1-acre deed with a 0.4-acre clearing footprint is a Standard Lot job, not a Large Clear. We walk the lines with you before the quote.
Canopy Density & Tree-Size Mix
A 1/2-acre of 80-foot oaks takes longer than a 1/2-acre of 30-foot scrub pine. Crew-day count and chipper hours scale to the work, not the deed.
Stump Depth for the Next Use

How much does land clearing cost?
Price tracks the acreage inside the marked lines and the canopy density. Small Lot (under 1/4 acre) is the quickest job. Standard Lot (1/4 to 1 acre) is the most common. Large Clear (1 acre+) is the biggest, scaling with crew-day count and the number of haul-out trips. Written firm price after we walk the lines with you — request a free estimate.
Will I get a burn pile?
No. The chipper runs the brush into the dump truck and we haul it off the lot. No burn permit, no smoke, no neighbor calling the city. The brush leaves with us in chip form.
What about the stumps?
Ground in-place on the same trip, no separate visit, no separate invoice. Tell us what's coming next (lawn / sod / fence / replant / builder pad) and we'll match the depth to it.
Do you need a survey or plot plan?
A current survey is best. If you don't have one, we walk the property with you and the deed map, mark the lines with ribbon and stakes, and photograph everything before the first cut. We do not clear past a marked line, ever — even if you tell us to mid-job.
Can you save specific trees?
Yes, and we'd rather you tell us which ones. Walk the lot with us, mark the keep trees with the orange ribbon we bring, and we work around them. The chainsaw crew follows the ribbon.
How long does a clear take?
Small Lot: 1 day. Standard Lot: 2 to 3 days. Large Clear: 4+ days, sometimes 1 to 2 weeks for the bigger builder developments. Daily progress photos go to you and (if you authorize) to your GC.
Do you coordinate with my builder or fence company?
Yes. Tell us who's coming next and what state they need the lot in (graded to plan, stake-ready, sod-ready, fence-line-cleared). We hand off directly. Final photos to your GC same day.
What about permits?
In most Triad counties, land clearing on a single-family parcel doesn't need a separate permit, but new construction does. We're not the permit-puller — that's the builder's lane — but we can point you to the typical county process and which agency to start with.
Do you work around utilities, septic, or wells?
Yes. We mark Duke Energy lines (call 811 before we start), septic field lines, and well heads with flags before any equipment runs. Above-ground utility setbacks (35 feet from live wires) are absolute.
Which towns do you clear lots in?
We clear lots across the whole Piedmont Triad from our High Point shop: High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Clemmons, Lexington, Archdale, and Trinity, plus the smaller towns in between like Jamestown, Summerfield, and Oak Ridge.
