Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use the 316 Tree Services website or hire us for tree work. By booking a job or sending a request through this site, you agree to the terms below. The written quote we send you, together with these terms, is the agreement between us.
1. Our agreement with you
316 Tree Services is a fully insured tree care company based in High Point, North Carolina, serving the Piedmont Triad. When we send you a written quote and you approve it (by signing, replying, or telling us to proceed), that quote becomes a binding work order for the services and price listed on it. If anything in these terms conflicts with your written quote, the written quote wins.
2. Estimates and quotes
We give free quotes based on the trees and conditions we can see at the time we look. A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
Tree work sometimes turns up things we could not see from the ground: internal rot, hidden hazards, ground that is softer than expected, or extra hauling. If the work needs to change once we start, we will stop, explain the change, and get your approval before we add any cost. We will not bill you for extra work you did not approve.
3. Scheduling and weather
We schedule jobs by date range rather than an exact hour, because tree work runs long or short depending on what each job turns into. Tree work is also weather dependent. High wind, storms, lightning, and saturated ground make climbing and rigging unsafe, so we may move your job to the next safe day. We will keep you posted if your date shifts. Emergency and storm calls are handled as fast as conditions safely allow, any hour.
4. Property access and preparation
So the crew can work safely and on schedule, you agree to:
- Confirm you own the property or have permission to authorize the work
- Give the crew clear access to the work area and a spot to park equipment
- Move vehicles, patio furniture, planters, and other valuables out of the drop zone
- Point out anything we cannot see: septic tanks and lines, irrigation, invisible pet fences, drain fields, low private wiring, and similar buried or hidden features
- Keep people and pets indoors and away from the work area while the crew is running equipment
If marked or disclosed hazards are not pointed out to us, we cannot be responsible for damage to them.
5. Payment
Payment is due when the work is finished, unless your quote sets different terms. Larger jobs may require a deposit before we schedule, which will be stated on your quote. We accept the payment methods listed on your invoice. Any discount or referral credit you qualify for is shown on your written quote before you book, so you see the final price up front. Past due balances may be subject to a reasonable late fee and collection costs as allowed by North Carolina law.
6. Cancellations and rescheduling
You can reschedule or cancel by calling or texting us. We ask for as much notice as you can give, ideally at least 24 hours before your scheduled date, so we can fill the slot. If we have already done custom prep, bought materials, or started the work, those costs may be billed. We may also cancel or reschedule a job if conditions are unsafe or if the site is materially different from what we quoted.
7. Insurance and liability
We are fully insured and we work to protect your property. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
Tree work carries real risk. We are responsible for damage caused by our own negligence. We are not responsible for:
- Damage to hidden or unmarked features you did not point out to us
- Minor lawn or surface marks (tire ruts, turf wear) that are normal when heavy equipment is needed, which we will minimize where possible
- Pre-existing damage, or damage from conditions like dead, diseased, or structurally unsound trees and limbs failing during or after removal of nearby growth
- Delays or damage caused by weather, utilities, or events outside our control
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the job in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
8. Permits, HOA approval, and utility lines
Some tree work needs a city permit or HOA approval, especially for protected trees or trees near a right of way. Unless your quote says we are handling it, getting any required permit or approval is your responsibility as the property owner. For public utility lines, we contact North Carolina 811 before digging where required. Private lines past the meter (irrigation, low-voltage lighting, invisible fencing, and the like) are not covered by 811, so you need to point those out as described in Section 4.
9. Use of this website

11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date at the top. The terms in effect on the date you approve your quote are the ones that apply to that job.
